Milano Holding Big Lead in GOP Primary

The Republican would face Legislator Judy Jacobs in the general election.

James Milano was holding a commanding 4-1 margin lead in Tuesday's GOP primary election to decide who will face incumbent Democrat Judy Jacobs for a seat on the Nassau County Legislature.

Milano was leading GOP challenger Bruce P. Kennedy, Jr., 208-52 with nearly 70 percent of the ballots counted at 11 p.m. Both men's names appeared on the Conservative party line, as well, for the 16th Legislative District. Milano was leading there, as well.

The Nassau County Republican Committee had endorsed Milano, a medical doctor who ran unsuccessfully for Congress against Queens Democrat Gary Ackerman in 2010. Neither man have been very visible so far in the campaign.
