Parkway Students are Lawmakers for a Day

Four classes of Parkway Elementary Students go through the process of debating and enacting laws.

Nassau County Legislator , D-Woodbury, welcomed four 4th grade classes from in Plainview.

The students, studying government as part of their curriculum, were invited to the Legislature to act as Nassau County law makers.

The students proposed a bill, argued, amended, and ultimately passed or defeated the bill that was brought to the floor.

Educators Mrs. Bezzina; Mrs. Cotto; Mr. Thayer; Mr. Beinert and Mrs. Henn were in attendance, along with Parkway's Principal .

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
