Venditto, Town Board, recognize train show efforts for Sandy victims.

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto joined with his colleagues on the Town Board and took special note at a recent Town Board meeting to recognize civic leader and the proprietor of Trainville Hobby Depot in Hicksville.

Trainville Hobby Depot Joel Berse was thanked for his efforts to coordinate a model train show fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.  The train show, which took place at the Hicksville Community Center in January, raised $2,896 for relief efforts, with over 600 people in attendance.

The funds were ceremonially presented to Craig Cooper (4th from left in photo) of the American Red Cross in Nassau County, and will go a long way towards helping those in need.
