Photos: Fleet Ready For Hurricane Sandy

Town of Oyster Bay is gassed up and ready to go if "Frankenstorm" strikes this part of Long Island.

Oyster Bay town officials and workers spent a lot of yesterday getting ready for the potential onslaught of Hurricane Sandy.

The entire fleet of special equipment, including bucket trucks, lifts, wood chippers and a variety of other vehicles are standing at the ready at the town's DWP complex in Syosset.

These photos capture the calm before the storm. They also provide an ominous reminder: The wood pile in some of the attached photos represents some of the remnants of which wreaked havoc on Long Island in 2011.
