Poster contest highlights efforts for water conservation.

The and its commissioners honored the winners of the 2011 Water Conservation Poster Contest during an awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 14.

Plainview-Old Bethpage students took part in this springtime tradition, creating their own original poster artwork on the topic of water conservation and how it relates to a healthy environment.

The three commissioners, Edward Shulroff, Andrew Bader and Joel Kessler, voted on the top three entries from each grade level.  First-place winners received a $100 U.S. savings bond; $50 bonds were awarded to second and third-place winners.
