Question of the Day: Alternative Cuts?

Great controversy has been sparked by the police merger proposal; What should be cut in it's place, then?

The Mangano Administration's plan to merge eight Nassau police precincts into four has been met with widespread opposition from Democrats, police unions and a large segment of community.

Mangano claims the merger will effectively take police out of "desk jobs" and put them to work on the streets. He claims a savings of $20 million is possible.
