TOBAY: Pool Fees Frozen for Fifth Year

Families and seniors stay cool for the same price as 2008.

The 2012 summer heat may burn the paint off your car, but it won't melt the cards in your wallet. The Town of Oyster Bay announced they will hold pool fees for families and seniors at the same rate for the fifth season in a row.

"A pool membership is a ticket to family fun and relaxation all summer long," said Oyster Bay Town Councilman Chris Coschignano. "[They] have always been an excellent value for residents' vacation dollars."

This summer season, beginning June 23 at , Bethpage, and parks, families and seniors will pay the same pool membership fees as they have since 2008. The family price hold should come as a relief to residents who saw .

TOBAY pool membership applications will be mailed to former pool members before the season begins.

Family memberships to any of the four TOBAY pools will be $175 for park district residents and $210 for non-park district residents. Seniors aged 60 and older will pay $45 within the park district and $55 outside the district.

Registration will be held daily May 26 through July 2 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the exception of Tuesdays and Thursdays when registration will continue through 7 p.m. Proof of residency, like driver's licenses or bills with name and address, must be provided.

You can moan and groan about local Government all you want, but certainly here in TOBAY we've got folks in charge who know how to handle our finances and keep our taxes and costs down. It has been said that there is neither a Democratic nor a Republican way to collect garbage or run parks. The key is competence and good management techniques, and the Town Supervisor and Town Board certainly know what they are doing!
