Town Celebrates Wildlife Sanctuary's 50th Anniversary
Officials honor sanctuary's longstanding work in preservation and education.
Town officials were on hand to celebrate 50 years of preservation and education at the North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary.
The sanctuary's president, Robert Deans, and vice president Barbara Conolly accepted a citation honoring the accomplishment.North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary has dedicated half a century to preserving and aiding wild nature, establishing nature reserves, and promoting education nature preservation and conservation.
The sanctuary has accumulated nearly 275 acres of property dedicated to their mission.
On hand to present the honor was Councilman Anthony Macagnone, District Court Judge Rhonda Fischer, and Charles Milone, of County Executive Ed Mangano's office.
