A prayer to be recited prior to voting
הֲרֵינִי מוּכָן וּמְזוּמָן לְקַיֵּם מִצְוַת לְהַצְבִּעַה
I am prepared and ready to fulfill the mitzvah of voting
לִדְרֹש טוֹב, צֶדֶק וְשָׁלוֹם הַמְדִינָה
to seek the good, justice and peace for our country
כְמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב - ירמיה כט:ז
as it is written (Jeremiah. 29:7):
"וְדִרְשׁוּ אֶת שְׁלוֹם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר הִגְלֵיתִי אֶתְכֶם"
“Seek the peace of the city where I cause you to settle”
יְהִי רָצוֹן מִלְפָנֶיךָ ה' אֱלֹקֵינוּ וֵאלֵֹהי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ
May it be Your will, Adonai our God and God of our ancestors
שֶׁאָנוּ בּוֹחֲרִים אַנָשִׁים וְנָשִׁים
that we elect men and women
שֶל אֶמֶת ויוֹשָׁר וְגִילוּי לֵב לְטוֹבָה וְלִבְרָכָה
of honesty, integrity with hearts open to good and blessing
וְיִתֵּן בְּלִבָּם וּבְּלֵב כָּל יוֹעַצֵיהֶם
place in their hearts and the hearts of all their counselors
חָכְמָה, בִינָה , דַעַת וּתְבוּנָה לַעַשׂוֹת טוֹב
wisdom, understanding, knowledge and insight to do good
לְהַבִיא צֶדֶק וְשָׁלוֹם לְמְדִינָתֵנו
to bring justice and peace to our country
וּלְכָל יוֹשְבֵי תֵבֵל
and all the inhabitants of the world
כִּי הַמַּלְכוּת שֶׁלְּךָ הִיא
because the ultimate power is yours
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' הַמֶּֽלֶךְ בִּכְבוֹדוֹ
Praised are you Adonai who is our eternal God
תָּמִיד יִמְלוֹךְ עָלֵֽינוּ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד, וְעַל כָּל מַעֲשָׂיו.
who rules over humanity and all creation.
