Keeping Jobs in Our Community

If there’s one thing we should be able to get bi-partisan consensus on, it’s that we need to promote economic growth and keep jobs in our community.

If there’s one thing we should be able to get bi-partisan consensus on, it’s that we need to promote economic growth and keep jobs in our community. That’s why, when news surfaced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was considering moving two air traffic control centers from Long Island to another part of the state as part of a new facility, I stood up against those efforts along with our bi-partisan Long Island Congressional delegation.

It’s simply common sense for the FAA to build a new, integrated, state of the art Air Traffic Control system for New York’s airports on Long Island.  By keeping the site in our region, we can not only create more than 1,000 construction jobs, but will also retain more than 850 highly-skilled FAA jobs in our region. This project combines several FAA sites under one roof to more effectively use resources.

This is the time to promote and develop new jobs on Long Island – not let talented, well-paying jobs leave the region. I will continue to stand up for the thousands of middle-class air traffic control, aviation and construction workers to protect Long Island workers.

Laura I hate to say this but LI is built on corruption,Who do you think paves the roads? The amount of Judges,Congressmen on down is awesome. You just don't want to get in the situation of one brother investigating the other. Our taxes are obscene and our leaders are obtuse. The Town of Hempstead has 10 Republican committeemen each making over 100 grand working in their Dog Pound!

Corruption will continue as long as the feds continue to chase terrorists. They have way too much invested since 9/11 to seriously examine corrupt public officials. There just isn't enough of them to go around.

Taxes Taxes and Taxes, High gas prices over the national average why?? New York Taxes, LIPA out of control rates, School Taxes, Surcharges (aka TAX) on Insurance, cell phones bills, DMV Fees, just to name a few. Not much that the federallies can do when our own state goverment is the cause of a mass exdous of families and jobs to live far far away where the cost of living is much more affordable and reasonable. You might wonder why New York is losing seats in Congress?? The population and businesses are moving out, and can you blame them??? Welcome to the Empire Tax State.
