We Shall Never Forget

One Nation Under God

This coming Tuesday marks the eleventh anniversary of the attacks on America by radical terrorists bent on destroying our nation and our way of life through terror and intimidation. The bastards failed. America was once again united in purpose, determination and resolve. The unity came had a very high price indeed; as it usually does. The price was paid at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard an airplane brought down by a group of ordinary people who, on that day, were called upon to be heroic and did so without hesitation, sacrificing themselves for countless others. They were after all Americans and were called to action by the now immortal phrase “Let’s roll.”

On each anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a multitude of emotions will forever be present. Grief and sadness will abound as we remember the innocent who were lost; their promise unfulfilled. Pride wells up for those in the fire, police and emergency medical services – paid and volunteer- who responded to the sites under attack without hesitation and without regard to their own safety, but in singular purpose to help others in need. The images of firefighters rushing in to the burning twin towers will forever be a symbol of pride and sacrifice for the greater good. The loss of emergency service personnel that day was enormous. Anger will be present as long as we recognize that our way of life is still under attack by these bastards. Pride once again, as we realize the justified beating these bastards have taken these last eleven years, thanks to the brave men and women in our armed forces who epitomize the very fabric of our nation and its’ resolve to protect our liberty and way of life.

Satisfaction, as we reflect that these bastards failed in their mission. They did not destroy our way of life and in fact, united us as we had not seen in many years. After the attacks, America was truly One Nation Under God.

We hope that the passage of time will ease the suffering of those who lost loved ones in these attacks, but we know the pain of loss will never go completely away. We owe it to those lost on this day eleven years ago, to remember them for how they lived, what they stood for, and yes, how they died. We shall never forget.

God Bless America.
