Clarkson University

Corey I. Ostrove of Plainview, a junior majoring in mathematics/physics, was named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 2011 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

York College of Pennsylvania

The following local students have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester at York College of Pennsylvania:

Kristen Walde of Plainview, a senior Nursing major.

Rebecca Jardines of Plainview, a junior Early Childhood Education major.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

University of New Haven

The following students were named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the fall 2011 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.

Nicholas Lobosco of Plainview.

Kent School

Sarah Cho, a student in the 4th form at Kent School in Kent, Connecticut, was named to the honor roll for the fall term of 2011-2012. Cho is the child of Mrs. Hye Youn Cho of Plainview. Kent is a co-ed college preparatory school founded in 1906 in the tradition of the Episcopal Church.
