Academic Honors For Plainview Grads (No. 8)

Local students honored by SUNY Potsdam, Oneonta, Binghamton and others.

The following Plainview area students were honored for their academic achievements in colleges around the Northeast region:

SUNY Potsdam:

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named more than 900 students to the President's List for the Fall 2011 semester in recognition of their academic excellence. Among the local students who made the SUNY Potsdam President's List were:

Aaron Langenauer of Plainview, whose major is Music Education.

Hollye Schiff of Plainview, whose major is Childhood/Early Child Education.

Matthew Wurtzel of Plainview, whose major is Music Education.

To achieve the honor of being on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Gina Marie Bilardi of Plainview, was recently named to the Dean's List at SUNY  Potsdam. Bilardi, whose major is Theatre, was among more than 400 students who were honored for academic excellence.

Syracuse University

Zachary Goldberg, of Plainview, is a Coronat Scholar-Honor Student,  He was named to the Dean's List for the fall, 2011 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale.)

Fairfield University

John Turini, a resident of Plainview, was named to the Dean's List at Fairfield University a Jesuit college in Fairfield, Ct., for the fall 2011 semester. To be selected for the Dean's List, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5, of a possible 4.0.

SUNY Oneonta

Troy Sigman, from Plainview was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Society at SUNY Oneonta. 

SUNY Binghamton

Brian A Cohen from Plainview, was recently awarded a BS degree in Management Finance from the School of Management.

Daniel J Weisz from Plainview was recently awarded a BS degree in Computer Science from the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science.

The following students were recently awarded a degree from the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University.

Jaclyn F Goldberg from Plainview, NY, was awarded a BA degree in Political Science.

Robyn M Borko from Plainview, NY, was awarded a BA degree in Art Studio.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
