Elementary Students Take Part in Fire Prevention Week
Plainview firefighters visit schools to talk about safety.
Plainview-Old Bethpage elementary school students recently took part in their annual Fire Prevention Week assemblies.
First and Second-grade students at Pasadena and Parkway elementary school were visited by volunteer firefighters from the Plainview Fire Department and heard about ways to stay safe in case of an emergency.
The firefighters answered questions about their profession, allowed students to learn about the many tools fire departments use in emergencies and explained the importance of practicing regular fire safety drills at home.
