Welcome to the Little School house at Driftwood. Home to our incredible Nursery School. The school year starts 9/5/2012. We offer a acedemic pre-school with the hours and flexibility of a day care center. Students ages 18 mos-5 years have the option of coming 2-5 days full or part-time. We offer families a special rate of $950 per month for any hours between 7:00am-6:00pm. All head teachers are certified with their masters degree. There are still a few spots left for September. We provide a
homey atmosphere where children can feel instant comfort. Every room isfurnished as an old-fashioned country school house. Each of our 3 deluxe
playrooms features a dramatic play area, blocks and cars, table toys, painteasel and art, and reading corner. The rooms are complete with a bathroom and
sink. Every toy has been hand selected by the director. The Driftwood groundsprovide us with 11 acres of natural learning environment for exploration. Our
state of the art playground, complete with 6 slides is perfect for outdoortime. The outdoor area also includes a wooden play train, wooden fire truck,
swings, teeter- totter, sandboxes and a playhouse. The facility is rounded out with a complete kitchen for cooking classes and science experiments.
Our Teachers plan an abundance of open-ended activities within each school day. We have
created a dynamic program filled with an enormous array of subjects and activities. Our student’s day is highly enriched with endless possibilities,while providing both structured and flexible class periods. Within a supportive
atmosphere, we encourage our students to take risks as they journey through the school year.
The curriculum at the Little Schoolhouse at Driftwood is
designed to stimulate both the intellect and the imagination. We strive to promote each child’s growth emotionally, physically, intellectually and
socially. Attention to varied learning styles is integrated into everyday class work and is supported by our certified teachers. We pride ourselves in developing
well-rounded children while promoting a love of learning. Our thematic approach will saturate subjects while incorporating them into art, science, math,
language arts, music, sports and cooking .We help the children to become group learners, effective problem solvers, and thoughtful decision-makers.
