Holy Trinity Students Recognized for Academic Excellence

Scholarships awarded to about a dozen seniors, including two from Hicksville.

Two Hicksville seniors are among a dozen at Holy Trinity High School to receive a New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

This program provides scholarship assistance to outstanding New York State high school graduates, said Principal Gene Fennell. Each year, 8,000 scholarships are awarded - up to 2,000 scholarships of $1,500 and 6,000 scholarships of $500 to top scholars from registered New York State high schools.

Awards are based on student grades in certain Regents exams and can be used towards tuition for four year of undergraduate studies in New York State.

The Holy Trinity students receiving a $1,500 scholarship are:

  • Anthony Beckner of Hicksville
  • Theresa LoCascio of Levittown.
The following each received a $500 scholarship:

  • Caroline Brown of Baldwin
  • Matthew Callahan of Hicksville
  • Theresa Caffray of Massapequa
  • Gia Campagna of Floral Park
  • Samantha Hoher of Mill Neck
  • Alison Krowiak of Seaford
  • Alexander Montoni of Searingtown
  • Kevin Tripp of Westbury.

Holy Trinity High School is a private, co-educational Catholic high school founded in 1966 drawing students from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.
