JFK Art Students' Work at Exhibition

"Go APE" exhibit opens Sunday at Tengelsen gallery in Dix Hills.

students will take part in the Art League of Long Island's fifth annual "Go APE" Exhibition.

A total of 125 "advanced placement" art students from 34 Long Island high schools, including JFK, will exhibit their talents in a wide spectrum of visual arts, including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, photography, and computer graphics in a professional gallery setting.

"APE Awards" (statuettes designed by Dan Christoffel) will be given out at the opening reception and will recognize outstanding work created in each of the following categories: drawing portfolio, 2D design portfolio, and 3D design portfolio.

The exhibit at the Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills opens Sunday with a reception for the students from 3-5 p.m. Admission to the Gallery is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.

The Gallery is open Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and weekends: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
