JFK Robotics Team Presented Chairman’s Award for Excellence

John F. Kennedy High School’s ‘POBOTS’ robotics team recently won the Chairman’s Award at the New City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition in the Jacob K. Javits Center.

The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious honor presented at the competition, and is presented to students who construct and design highly-functioning and advanced robots.

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s robotics program is designed to enhance students’ creativity and problem solving skills while integrating science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.  For more than a decade, JFK High School students have participated in regional, statewide and national robotics and STEM-oriented competitions.
