Legislator Joins Parents in Reading Program

Leg. Jacobs reads to Plainview kindergarteners as part of national effort.

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, D-Woodbury, described herself as "thrilled" to read to the kindergarten class at the Plainview Kindergarten Center Monday.

The program Monday at the Stratford Road complex is part of the Parents As Reading Partners program.

The legislator read "A Giraffe and A Half" by Shel Silverstein. Jacobs said it's among her favorites to share with the children as they become very involved in the rhyming.

“It was a wonderful morning shared by all,” she said.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
