Lions Club Donate Dictionaries to Plainview Students

Plainview-Old Bethpage third grade students recently took part in "The Dictionary Project," designed as a way to expand their reading and writing skills.

Third grade students and their teachers at Old Bethpage, Pasadena, Stratford Road, and Parkway Elementary Schools were presented with dictionaries donated by the Plainview- Bethpage Lions Club, in conjunction with Astoria Federal Savings Bank.

The Dictionary Project provides an opportunity for students to expand their vocabulary as well as assist with the development of their reading and writing skills, district officials said.
