Mattlin Students Share Talents with Long Island Horn Lovers

Students Participate in Celebration of the French Horn

Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s Mattlin Middle School recently sent three of its most talented musicians to participate in the Suffolk County Educators Association “Day of Horn.”

The celebration of the French Horn consisted of special clinics and a concert highlighting the instrument. Sixth grade student Derek Futterman and fifth grade students Julia Kachianos and Danielle Mintz were chosen to participate in the county-wide gathering at Commack High School.

The annual celebration holds a World Record for the most French Horns assembled on stage at one time.
