Mini- Heat Wave Returning; Hot and Humid into Weekend

Ozone warning in effect for Thursday. Friday's high temperatures could exceed 90.

The National Weather Service is calling for a short-lived heat wave to linger over Long Island into the weekend.

TODAY'S 5:

1. Today is forecast to be hot and humid with the highs in the upper 80s. An air quality alert for ozone has been issued for people who are sensitive to these conditions. Friday's temperatures could top 90 degrees, the NWS says.
