Rohan Murphy, a motivational speaker, visited recently to speak with the fourth grade students about his life and challenges as a young child without legs.
The children were mesmerized by his ability to overcome growing up and becoming a wrestler, albeit without the benefit of legs. He told the students of his struggles and feelings.
Ronelle Hershkowitz, Parkway’s Principal, stated, “You may not have legs, but you are the tallest and biggest man I know.”
Murphy was on Pennsylvania State University's wrestling team and, because he has such a positive attitude and feels as blessed as he does, he has become a motivational speaker.
“He’s just awe-inspiring”, said
Murphy was featured in a Nike commercial and has been in publications such as Sports Illustrated and he has also appeared on television. “This was an incredibly moving experience and we hope to see more of Mr. Murphy,” said Mrs. Hershkowitz.
