Pasadena Students Take Part in Healthy Words Spelling Bee

in Plainview recently held its annual Healthy Words Spelling Bee.

The event, coordinated by physical education teacher Jeff Salzberg, is a fun and educational way to improve spelling skills, reinforce vocabulary and support healthy living.

Mr. Salzberg works with teachers from every grade to collect vocabulary from science, reading and social studies. He uses words that could also address issues of health, nutrition, exercise and keeping healthy.

Third and fourth grade teachers hold preliminary spelling bees in their classrooms and three contestants from each class go the Healthy Words Spelling Bee. This year's co-winners were fourth grade students Brian Burke and Kristen Dong.
