Photo: Hundreds Turn Out For Fundraiser

Plainview JFK community donates to scholarship in the name of lost classmate Spencer Reis.

Hundreds turned out for Monday's benefit for the Spencer Reis scholarship fund at Catch the Wave in Plainview.

This year's event included a DJ and a big crowds all day at the frozen yogurt store in the Harmon Plaza.

The Plainview JFK freshman lost his battle with cancer one year ago this week.  Catch the Wave is donating 50 percent of the gross sales for the entire day to the scholarship fund.
