Photo of the Day: Stitch in Time

Ten members of Plainview's Junior Girl Scout Troop 3071 visited local retailer "A " to learn how to knit.

 The girls each received a starter kit that included yarn, knitting needles with point protectors and bags to hold their supplies. During the two-hour session, the girls received a hands on-lesson explaining how to hold the yarn, complete the knit stitch, and transfer the yarn from one knitting needle to the other.

There was tremendous interest from the girls in learning a craft that many of their mother's and grandmother's have mastered. The troop is on their way to making their first project.
