Plainview-Old Bethpage eighth grade studio art students recently participated in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.

The contest, which is sponsored by local Lions Clubs around the world, encourages students to express their visions and ideas of world peace.  This year’s contest theme was “Our World, Our Future.” 

The district congratulated the following students for being recognized for their posters based on its message, originality and artistic merit:

  • Esther Kand (First Place)
  • Michelle Ng (Second Place)
  • Julia Park (Third Place)
  • Lauren Sieloff (Honorable Mention)
  • Christine Gonzalez (Honorable Mention)
