Plainview Student Named Scholar-Artist

Adrian Kim recognized in prestigious competition.

Plainview JFK student Adrian Kim was recently chosen by the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA), Newsday and New York Community Bank Foundation as a Scholar-Artist Award winner in the Visual Arts category.

Kim was one of only two winners chosen in the Visual Arts category of the competition, the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District announced. Ms. Kim was nominated for the prestigious award by Plainview art teacher Warren Jacobson.

Kim was formally recognized at the Long Island Arts Alliance’s Scholar-Artist Kick-Off at the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts in September and will also be acknowledged at their annual Tilles Center Gala for the Performing Arts in Spring 2013.
