Each week, will feature one student from the community who has done something special. This week, Plainview Patch is highlighting a well-rounded, intelligent senior, Adam Getzler.

- Age: 17
- School:
- Accomplishment: Getzler was one of 300 semifinalists nationwide in the for his research project on boron deprivation in sugar beats. The Plainview whiz spent his summer at Michigan State University as a part of the High School Honors Science Program conducting his preparing his project.
- Key to Awesomeness: Getzler has certainly accomplished a lot for a 17-year old, but his sights are still set far ahead for the future. After his graduation this June, he hopes to attend the University of Chicago to pursue a double major in biology and political science. At Plainview-JFK, Getzler has achieved high honor roll every quarter, and has been inducted into both the National Business Honor Society and National Sciences Honor Society.
