This week, Plainview Patch is highlighting Whiz Kid and Plainview-Old Bethpage senior Benjamin Strack.

  • Name: Ben Strack
  • Age: 17
  • School: Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School
  • Accomplishment: As power forward for the varsity basketball team, Strack helped bring his team into the first round of playoffs in the 2009-10 season.
  • Key to Awesomeness: Strack spent his time between seasons working to improve his skills on the court, which was very easy to see in his performance this year. Off the court, Strack excels in the classroom as well. He plans to attend the University of Maryland in the fall to pursue a degree in journalism. Although he has decided on the University of Maryland, Strack had an array of colleges to choose from. Aside from the University of Maryland, he was accepted to Siena College, Marist College and the University of Pittsburgh.
