Plainview Whiz Kid: Emily Rabinowitz

Highlighting kids who make a difference in the community.

Each week, Plainview Patch will feature one student from the community who has done something special. This week, Plainview Patch is highlighting a kind and talented 11th grader, Emily Rabinowitz.

  • Name: Emily Rabinowitz
  • Age: 16
  • School: Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School
  • Accomplishment: Rabinowitz has volunteered her time to the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library for the past three years helping younger children learn to read. She was recently inducted into the National Honor Society at her high school as well.
  • Key to Awesomeness: The high school junior puts her school work first, and enjoys giving back to others in the community. But Rabinowitz's generosity doesn't stop with her volunteer work. After high school, she plans to pursue a degree in art therapy at a nearby art institute. "I really want to take my passion for art and help people with it," Rabinowitz said.
