This week, Plainview Patch is highlighting a smart, generous and admirable fifth grader. Plainview's latest Whiz Kid is Mattlin Middle School's Sarah Gardos.

- School: Howard B. Mattlin Middle School
- Accomplishment: Sarah Gardos volunteered as one of the leading "Little Doctors" in last week's PTA Council blood drive.
- Key to Awesomeness: When Gardos' name was drawn for the Little Doctors Program, there was no question about it; she would be dressed in a lab coat at the March blood drive! Last Tuesday, Gardos was among 20 fifth graders in Mattlin Middle School's cafeteria who dedicated their afternoon and night to aid in the important process of blood donation. Responsibilities included greeting donors, serving snacks, handling paperwork and designing personal "thank you" cards. Gardos was the last "Little Doctor" to leave the building.
