Plainview-Old Bethpage School Board President to Be Honored

Ginger Lieberman to be presented with School Board Member Distinction at the 2014 Nassau BOCES Education Partner Awards.

Plainview-Old Bethpage’s Board of Education President Ginger Lieberman will be honored at the 2014 Nassau BOCES Education Partner Awards.

Lieberman will be recognized among one of the most influential school board members for public education on Long Island at a ceremony on April 2.

“Ginger Lieberman has been a strong advocate for our students and has been an influential leader in our community for more than thirty years,” said Dr. Lewis, Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District Superintendent of Schools.

“We are very proud of Ms. Lieberman for being honored by our leaders as she has been a strong voice for public education on Long Island,” he noted.

Lieberman said she was honored to receive the award and  “to have helped provide our students of all ages and abilities with the best education possible.”

“Despite the many obstacles that public educators have faced in the last few years, I am proud to say that we have gone above and beyond to ensure that each of our students is provided with the necessary resources and opportunities to succeed,” she added.

Lieberman has served as a trustee on the board for more than 28 years.

Recognized as an  expert on the behaviors associated with bullying and cyberbullying, Lieberman hosts educational workshops for parents and students on recognizing bullying behavior. She is also the author of Bully Frog and Forlorn Frog, both of them children’s books about character building and the vices of bullying.
