POBots Heading to St. Louis for International Competition

Plainview Students Win Third Place, Engineering Inspiration Award

Plainview's POBots Robotics team recently participated in the Long Island FIRST Robotics Regional, hosted by Hofstra University.

The team earned first seed in the competition through an unprecedented nine-straight victories in the seeding rounds. In front of a capacity crowd, the POBots advanced all the way to the semi-finals.

In a best-of-three third round competition, the team lost by a mere seven points, landing them in a tie for third place out of 50 teams.

Based on their team excellence in promoting and demonstrating the values of FIRST Robotics, the POBots were awarded the prestigious “Engineering Inspiration Award,” which qualifies them to participate in the International Championship in St. Louis later this month.
