Prom Tonight; Photo Package Coming

If you've been reading Patch this week, you know tonight's the big night.

Plainview's senior prom weekend kicks off with a pre-prom gathering at Plainview JFK. Patch will be there to record the event; and we want your photos.

Thursday's lineup:

1. Our week of and fun tips ends today with a variety of last minute stories and photos.

2. The at Plainview JFK begins in front of the high school for all seniors and their prom dates from 5-6:15 p.m. Thursday. Students can arrive in their limousines or buses or arrange to have their transportation meet them at the high school.

3. It is a mitzvah to enable people to say Kaddish, and theasks your help to make that happen. Morning minyans take place at 6:30 a.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Evening minyans are at 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.

4 With school out for many, there's great opportunities to visit local points of interest. The 40 acres of the historic Bailey Arboretum in Lattingtown is open daily and free to the public. 

5. We'll be looking for new developments in the that took place Monday night near Jamaica Avenue School. Police and local public officials have assured the public that the victim was known to the assailants and that others in the community are not threatened by this incident.
