Question of the Day: What Are Your Reading?

It's Dr. Seuss' birthday and that's also Read Across America day.

March 2 is Dr. Seuss' birthday, and one way to celebrate the man who may have been your first favorite author is to take part in Read Across America day.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to take up The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment. Dr. Seuss was the pen name for Theodor Seuss Geisel, who published 46 children's books, including "Green Eggs and Ham" and "The Cat and the Hat."

What book are you reading? Is there a book you've been meaning to read? (I've got several I didn't finish from High School I'm determined to complete.)

What book made a big difference in your life? Did a Dr. Seuss book make a difference in your life as a child or as a parent?

Share your plans for celebrating Read Across America Day with Patch. NEA and Lorax' publisher, Random House, also have lesson plans and lots of other materials, resources and printable activities for teachers, parents and kids.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
