Plainview Little League to Honor Memory of Joseph Sadowski Today

Members of the will be in attendance at Thursday's Plainview baseball game to honor the memory of .

MSG Varsity is broadcasting the game against Hicksville, which is Plainview Little League Day. The event will honor Joseph, who died at 13 last month after battling leukemia.

On Thursday:

1. The Little League is hoping to get 50 or more kids dressed in their PLL uniforms and will raffle off some prizes.  In addition, Thomas Sadowski, the brother of Joseph, will throw out the first pitch, organizers said. The entire community is invited to the 4:30 p.m. game at the high school.

2. For the first time in the 45-year history of , Damon Runyon’s classic “Guys & Dolls” will be presented beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m.. Additional performances will be presented on May 4, & 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Call 516-433-2900 x146 for details. More than 100 students and 14 faculty/staff members are involved in the production.

3. Preparations are continuing this week for Sunday's event bone marrow donor drive in memory of Plainview's Spencer Reis. The event runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Driftwood Day Camp, 331 Mount Misery Rd, Melville, NY. SMonetary donations can be made at www.dkmsamericas.org/donate .
