Two Big Stories Impact Readers Tuesday

TODAY's 5: School budget to be decided; Town Board to meet amid Torres scandal.

Plainview Patch will be reporting on two-ongoing stories today and late into tonight. Meanwhile, two talented local acts are advancing on a big televised stage.

Today's 5:

1. Plainview-Old Bethpage voters will decide the outcome of the school district's proposed $137 million budget. See our report that outlines the plan and where to vote. Look for our breaking news alerts tonight when the vote is decided, sometime after 9:30 p.m.

2. The Oyster Bay Town Board meets Tuesday morning for the first time since the sex abuse scandal broke last week. We'll have a report by early afternoon.

3. of neighboring Bethpage High School has moved on to the next round of competition in , a weekly series featuring the most talented high school acts in the tri-state area. Tangorra received enough on-line votes at www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com to advance to the next round of the competition.He will now join the other eight individual vocalists that have advanced to the next round.

4. There's still time to vote on Sunday's performance by the a cappella group . Go to http://www.msgvarsitytalentshow.com/ -- and you can keep voting until Thursday morning. The viewers decide the winners by the online voting.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
