Week Ahead: Final Presidential Debate Monday

And, local campaigns head into the home stretch as election day looms.

The November general election is just two weeks away from Tuesday and the campaigns are entering the final stretch this week. Patch will have lots of political coverage as well as community news this week:

The Week Ahead:

1. The third and final Presidential debate will be aired Monday night from Florida between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney. The debate, to focus on foreign policy, is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

2. Tuesday, the debate scene shifts locally, when News 12 is scheduled to air a debate between Incumbent Steve Israel and his Challenger Stephen Labate in the race for the 3rd District Congressional seat.

3. There is more concern over the latest Nassau redistricting proposal, prompting the latest meeting in Plainview, set for the Plainview JFK High School Monday.

4. Plainview JFK's football defeated Valley Stream over the weekend and heads into its final home game with a 3-4 record and a shot at making the Nassau Div. I playoffs.

5. Voices Against Brain Cancer's "Run for Rob" is scheduled for Sunday.
