Week Ahead:

2. When school resumes Tuesday, Spirit Week comes to Plainview JFK High School in advance of Saturday's homecoming festivities.

3. Saturday's homecoming begins with a parade at 1 p.m. and the varsity football game against Uniondale at about 2:30 p.m.

4. Saturday also coincides with the opening day of the 29th annual Oyster Festival on the Oyster Bay waterfront. Some 200,000 people are expected to attend the event on Saturday and Sunday. We'll have reports all week.

5. We count on our readers to let us know what's happening. It's easy to promote your event. Sign in and add it to our events calendar here. Then, just click the button at the top right of the events page. It's free, simple and attracts attention.
