Big Soccer Tournament Through Weekend

Hundreds of teams to play on fields around the Town of Huntington.

Hundreds of teams will compete in the two-day Columbus Weekend soccer tournament starting Saturday morning .

The largest soccer tournament in the Northeast, the 25th Northport Cow Harbor Columbus Weekend Tournament will raise funds for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. 

Teams from around Long Island and beyond will square off, playing on fields in Northport, Half Hollow Hills, Huntington Station and elsewhere.

Town Supervisor Frank Petrone and Councilman Mark Cuthbertson will help cut  the ribbon to open the tournament at 10 a.m. at Northport High School.

Also participating will be players in pink socks, and a Carol M. Balwdwin Breast Cancer Fund representative.

Professional soccer players from the Cosmos and the freestylers from the Red Bulls Street Team will be on hand for interviews signing autographs, taking photos and raffling off jerseys.

Representatives from CMBBCRF will be on hand for interviews as well.
