'Over The Hill Gang' Plays its Championship Game

Reilly Cup goes to Auto Craft Service Center.

The "Over the Hill Gang" of local softball players proved they were anything but recently. 

In the photo, Don Carlin, manager of Paradox Cafe, (third from left) and Dennis Oehl, manager of Auto Craft Service Center, (third from right) led their teams to the championship game played at Allen Park. They are holding the Reilly Cup, the trophy presented to the winning team. The cup is named after the Farmingdale softball league’s president and founder, Jim Reilly (center).

The close contest went down to the finish with Auto Craft Service Center scoring a run in the final inning to win, 15-14, and capture the trophy.

The league consists of 12 teams of players who are over 40 and live in Farmingdale or other parts of the Town of Oyster Bay.
