Plainview Race Palace Hosts World-Class Jockeys

Last Chance: Meet and greet racing experts Monday in advance of Saturday's Belmont Stakes.

The “Belmont Stakes Spoiler Fest” will be held Monday in honor of the 144th Belmont Stakes which could potentially have the first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

World renowned championship jockeys Ramon Dominguez, John Velazquez, Javier Castellano and Junior Alvarado, each with a mount in Saturday's  Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, will be making guest appearances at the to meet and address fans.

They are slated to go up against relative newcomer Mario Gutierrez, who will ride Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I’ll Have Another for a shot at racing's coveted Triple Crown. The last horse to achieve that feat was Affirmed in 1978.

Gutierrez' four challengers will sign autographs in Plainview Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Race Palace and help support their favorite charity – the permanently disabled Jockeys fund (PDJF).

The 2012 Thoroughbred Racing Jockeys Calendar will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to the PDJF charity. Admission to the race palace is free from 5-7 p.m. in honor of the occasion and includes refreshments.
