Accomplishment: The Hawks are currently 5-2 in Conference AA-II with nearly half the season left to compete. Just last week, the girls of the Plainview team shut out Calhoun High School 14-0 thanks to pitcher Katie Rutcofsky's no hitter. The Hawks have also defeated the varsity squads of Valley Stream Central, Hicksville and Herricks so far this season.

Key to Awesomeness: As a team, these athletes work hard both on and off the field to ensure success. The young girls excel not only in athletics, but in the classroom as well. Their drive is what really makes the team, and the Hawks are hoping to earn a spot in the playoffs come May.

Season Highlights: In last Tuesday's matchup against Calhoun High School, Ashley Calise blasted a bases-loaded triple to get the team going, and Tracy Lichtenstein blasted her first home run of the season. From the mound, Rutcofsky's no-hitter came with 10 strikeouts and only two walks.

On April 4, the Hawks faced off against Hicksville High School in a close game. The Plainview team was able to secure a win, topping Hicksville 8-7 in the final innings. Ashley Calise's RBI-single tied the game in the seventh inning leading into the winning overtime.
