Town to Host Military All Stars Baseball Game

Military to face Long Island Force in Supervisor Trophy game.

They are stars on the baseball diamond and on the battlefield.

An elite baseball team made up of players from all branches of the U.S. Military will play a team of Long Island High School All Stars for the Oyster Bay Town Supervisor's Trophy Tuesday night.

THe game, "gives us the opportunity to show our patriotism and pay tribute to great men and women of the United States Military," Supervisor John Venditto said.

The U.S. Military All Stars will take on the Long Island at Burns Park in Massapequa. First pitch is 8 p.m.

The Military All Stars, first formed in 1990, features active duty, reserves and veterans and First Responders  who try out for the squad's "Red White and Blue Tour." 

The team pays their own expenses and is dedicated to promoting awareness of all  of the sacrifices the armed forces make for all Americans.

They have appeared all around the country and have had former major leaguers join them as they play a 100 game schedule.

The Long Island Force is a top travel team. “It provides a great showcase for the area’s young players and scouts from local major league teams are expected to be in attendance,” said Anthony Passalacqua, Co-Founder of Long Island Baseball. 

Festivities at Burns Park will begin more than two hours before the game at 5:45 p.m.
