3 to be Honored at LIWA Dinner

Long Island Women's Agenda will honor local leaders for community contributions

The Long Island Women's Agenda (LIWA) is honoring three outstanding women leaders and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition of Long Island at the Fox Hollow Country Club on Monday, June 6 for their "Celebration of Women" annual dinner.

LIWA is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan coalition of women's organizations and individuals that advocates for issues, policies, and programs affecting the lives of women living and working on Long Island such as health, affordable housing, pay equity, women on corporate boards, childcare, and domestic violence.

“Women are the backbone of the family. They are the people who are going to be turning toward a variety of our organizations when they need help, whether it’s  through the medical field, through business and economic development, or a legislative committee on the national level to promote the interests of not only women, but also of their families,” said LIWA President Annamarie Bondi-Stoddard.

Andrea Jones, Editor of Long Island Business News, will be receiving the Community Leader Award for her publication's support of female business owners and corporate professionals.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized by LIWA for the work that I do at Long Island Business news,” said Jones.
