Local Women Raise Money for Hofstra Medical School

Jacobs on hand to swear in members of the Meadowbrook Women's Initiative at Temple Chaverim.

Nassau County Legislator acted as the installing officer recently for the organization.

The event, held at in Plainview was attended by more than 200 people. The organization raises money every year for Hofstra University's Medical School.

This year, checks were also presented to the Crisis Center and Traumatic Brain Injury Organization.

“This is a wonderful group of dedicated individuals devoted to helping others," said Jacobs, D-Woodbury. "It was especially meaningful to me because the incoming President, Barbara Goldstein, is a very dear friend for many years.”

I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
