On Scout Sunday, several of the Cub and Boy Scout troops affiliated within Plainview were honored with awards for their good works.
The church recognized the young people at Mass on Sunday Feb. 5 for completing work in Parvuli Dei (Latin for "Light of God") and Ad Altare Dei ("To the Altar of God.)
The Roman Catholic scouts in various age groups have completed programs hat help develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community. The program is designed to explore activities that will help them discover the presence of God in their daily lives and to foster a positive self image, church leaders said.
