Purim Celebrations in Plainview Wednesday

Here's a breakdown of the various Purim services and celebrations around town today.

"Joyous Purim Festival" to our readers. Plainview and the world celebrate an ancient story of love and faith this evening. Here's a breakdown of some of the community's events:

1. The 's Purim celebration begins at 5 p.m. with Hamantashen baking, a chocolate fountain and a costume contest. Then, at 7 p.m., the traditional will be followed by a special Powerpoint presentation on the meaning of Purim. All ages are invited; open to the entire community.

2. " begins with a short Purim worship service at 7 p.m. followed by the Purim Spiel, and a musical "Motown Megilla," Come in costume; Oneg with hamantashen to follow.

3. The schedule is for an abridged Megillah reading at 6:30, followed by the Purim Carnival and Ice Cream Social. The Adult Purim Spiel is at 7:45 followed by a full Megillah Reading about 8.

4. s conducts its Purim Service and Megilah Reading at 7 p.m. The Temple held its carnival last weekend.

5. The will hold its Purim carnival Sunday, March 11, a day of refreshments, game booths, water rides, kiddie carnival, bouncers, prizes, and more.

Richard, I agree. This road has so many potholes that were fixed, it dips and the county trees haveRead More lifted it up in areas that now hold water. I have ben living here for over 30 years, and I cannot recall it ever being done. It needs to be done soon, I so agree with you. Maybe Mangano will see this and do something, then again if we lived in Bethpage, it would of been done already.
