The Friends of the Library conducts its weekend-long fund-raiser beginning Friday at 4 p.m.

Beginning Friday night, there are great bargains to be had at the Plainview Library, where the Friends of the Library begin its weekend-long fund-raising sale.

1. The Friends of the Library are holding their annual fund-raising sale beginning Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the The sale continues all weekend, Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. at the library. There are some great bargains for book lovers and its all for a good cause.

2.The , presents a two-act story combining  two earlier one-act plays, with music and lyrics by William Finn and books by James Lapine. The Broadway production, directed by Lapine, opened in April 1992 and ran for nearly 500 performances. Tickets: $20; 8 p.m.

3. Port Washington travels to Plainview to challenge in girls soccer at 4:30 p.m.
